Cláudia Silva is a postdoctoral researcher at the Madeira Interactive Technologies Institute (M-ITI). She holds a PhD in Digital Media from the Universidade Nova de Lisboa (Portugal), under the international collaboration between the Universidade Nova de Lisboa and the University of Texas at Austin, USA (May 2016). For her doctoral thesis, she worked with local communities and underperforming Latinas in Austin (Texas, USA) for four years, doing ethnographic work and teaching groups of different age groups how to create stories about places (locative), in Spanish and English. For this purpose, Cláudia collaborated with two Texan non-profit organizations: River City Youth and Latinitas that work with disadvantaged communities.
