Cristina Ponte is a professor associated with aggregation in Studies of Media and Journalism. She is currently executive coordinator of the Department of Communication Sciences of the Faculty of Communication Sciences of the Faculty of Social and Human Sciences of the New University of Lisbon and is an integrated member of the Institute of Communication (ICNOVA). In recent years her research has revolved around the relationship between the media and generations, focusing on children and young people and their family environments. Coordinator of the Portuguese team in the EU KIDS ONLINE network, she coordinated the projects Inclusion and Digital Participation (2009-2011) and Children in Youth in News (2005-2007), both funded by FCT and the study Growing between Screens, Uses of electronic media by children (3-8 years), for ERC (2016).
